Independent pub · Reading
The Allied Arms is a small family run pub in the centre of Reading. It has been a pub since 1828, in a building dating back to the 16th Century. The building has previously been used as a butcher shop and a brewery. There is a garden in the centre of town, and up to ten cask ales are available, at least half from local breweries. It does not serve food beyond crisps, nuts and pork scratchings, and holds a quiz night every Wednesday.
