Independent pub · London
Royal Albert is a pub in New Cross, run by Portobello Brewery. It has six handpumps, with normally up to four cask ales on, usually one or two from the house brewery plus guest beers with a mainly regional focus. Changing beers typically include Five Points, Portobello and Southwark. The Grade II-listed early Victorian building keeps a four-bay bar back with carved frieze and mirrored panels. There is a rear conservatory, an open kitchen and a front patio, plus a beer garden. Burgers, steak and Sunday roasts are on the menu, with a Monday quiz, a pool table and live jazz on Sundays.
