Independent pub · London
The Princess of Wales is a restored Victorian corner pub on Chalcot Road in Primrose Hill, London, which calls itself the area's favourite gastropub. It was built in 1868 and named for Princess Alexandra, consort of Edward VII. The pub is set over three floors, with a first floor dining room, a lower-ground bar with an island serving area, and an event space. Outside is the Banksy beer garden, named after a lion stencil that appeared in 2011. The menu is seasonal British food. Live jazz is played on Sunday afternoons, and the pub is dog-friendly.
