Independent pub · Manchester
Lower Turks Head is a historic pub in Manchester's Northern Quarter, opposite the Shudehill bus and Metrolink interchange. It dates back to 1745 and sits less than a mile from the Joseph Holt brewery. There are 30 keg taps and 12 cask pumps, pouring Joseph Holt Bitter, IPA, Chorlton Pale Ale, Two Hoots and Mild. Behind a historic tiled frontage, the pub is deceptively deep, with plenty of nooks and crannies. Features include three solid wood carved bars, checkerboard flooring, panelled walls and pew seating, with raised drinking pews opposite the bar. On the first floor, a heated outdoor terrace carries hand painted artwork nodding to the pub's Northern Soul history. Dogs are welcome, and 4 en-suite bedrooms have their own separate entrance.
