Independent pub · London
Cock & Lion is a pub on Wigmore Street in Marylebone, between Marylebone and Mayfair in West London. It calls itself the oldest pub in Marylebone and says it has been a bastion of Bohemia since 1786, though CAMRA's pub entry says it was first licensed in 1764. Traditional low ceilings and a distinctive horse-shoe bar give it character. There are four ale handpumps, and regulars include Fuller's London Pride, Timothy Taylor Landlord and Sharp's Doom Bar. Upstairs is a second bar and a first floor restaurant. The walls hold local art and many sports-related photographs.
