Independent pub · Edinburgh
The Barony Bar is an Edinburgh city centre pub, not far from Waverley Station. CAMRA lists it on its historic pub inventory and rates its interior as of outstanding national historic importance. The art-deco inspired pub first opened as a drinks merchant in 1896 before becoming a pub. Inside is a relatively small L-shaped bar, with an oak counter and gantry from 1899, tiling with small paintings of Scottish scenes, whisky mirrors and tiled fireplaces. The pub describes real ale, drams and wine on offer, and open fires. CAMRA notes regular quizzes and live music sessions.
